The Mental Health Steering Group
The Mental Health Steering Group is a decision making body within Bracknell Forest Borough Council and has the following remit:

    1. To develop and implement a multi-agency, multi-interest Mental Health Strategy for Bracknell Forest with the aim of improving services for people with mental health problems within that locality.

    2. To work in close consultation and collaboration with the Bracknell Forest Mental Health Forum, actively seeking the Forum's views on specific issues and taking them into account prior to making decisions.

    3. To be responsible for approving financial allocations appropriate to mental health needs and to consider all bids from agencies which would contribute towards developing mental health services in Bracknell Forest, thus ensuring a co-ordinated approach to the commissioning of services.

    4. To concentrate on the needs of adults with mental health problems, i.e. those between the ages of 16 and 65 years.

    5. To contribute to the development of services for other groups where there is an overlap with mental health, e.g. children and older people.

    6. To adopt an open approach to its work by ensuring that minutes of meetings are available to any interested group and by inviting views on specific issues or areas of development.
