The Mental Health Employment Network exists partly to introduce its members to each other so that they can interchange ideas and working practices. This has been done so far mainly by issuing a directory of members, holding occasional meetings and publishing our Newsletter.
Our Newsletter always seeks to showcase our members' activities and views and each issue needs time to plan, time to obtain contributions, and time to produce. Our committee and "workforce" is entirely unpaid, voluntary, and almost entirely service users, so we have to treat deadlines as secondary to newsletter content. This has often meant that information of a transitory or administrative nature - such as committee telephone numbers or advance notification of events - can arrive late or even be omitted from the Newsletter.
Working Notes is an occasional one sheet supplement to our Newsletter and will fill this gap. Its content will mainly be information from the Committee, but there will always be room for members to contribute brief information points especially of a topical nature.
