Working together on Poverty

On February 13th 2001 Focus organised an event which was addressed by two Ministers, Margaret Hodge MBE, MP Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Education and Employment and Hugh Bayley MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Social Security

Two important pieces of work carried out for Focus were reported on at the seminar. A survey of service user attitudes and concerns about poverty was prepared by Lisa Bird of the Mental Health Foundation and presented by Lisa and complemented by MindLink's Kevin Burnand. A Resource Pack was derived from a literature search by Professor Ann Davis and Phil Hull of the Department of Social Policy and Social Work at Birmingham University and presented by Phil Hull.
