The Plan - email us if you would like to be involved

Many of the Focus members are working towards improving the employment position for mental health sufferers. The Focus employment checklists are drawn from our members' activities and results, by a sub group of three: Simon Lawton Smith from MACA, Alison Cobb from MIND and Tony Heyes from UK Federation. There are four checklists, one for each different need. Following the distribution of the four drafts to forty or so organisations of four checklists, we received many comments and the lists were revised and are now expected to be printed in June.

The distribution of one set of checklists each to 1500 or 2000 organisations representing the four categories will complete the Department of Health contract awarded to Focus under the Section 64 scheme and Focus will be then considering further action in the light of response to the mailing.

An idea is forming that there should be a pilot of one or more of these lists each by a lead organisation. This would establish a further degree of comment and in particular verify that the checklists are comprehensive and sound enough to assist organisations to make reliable assessments of their own or others' services.

Any organisation with views on this idea or which wishes to consider an involvement of any sort in the pilot is invited to contact us
