Our Mission Statement

Our group is entirely independent of any statutory or non-user group and is open to anyone who has survived, or is trying to survive, mental health problems and who wishes to get support from other survivors, to support them, or to combine with them in social and other activities.

We tend to have activities rather than round the table meetings.

We will:

  • provide contact amongst members for mutual support, advice and information

  • showcase and signpost the activities of other user, carer and provider groups in the area, whose activities we will support and seek not to duplicate

  • listen to our members and seek to extend the activities available locally by our own efforts

  • on key issues, to represent the views of our members to policy, commissioning and other bodies

Membership is currently free though some of our activities may involve a cost. Membership entitles you to join the Committee, to receive our Newsletter and occasional update, to contribute to our user surveys and to receive our Directory of Activities and Services which is under development. Most of our meetings are open to any interested individual, including carers.

We ask full members, and anyone who wishes to go on our email distribution list, to complete our questionnaire. This is available at the address below.
